We have developed HospitalOwl.com to be a resource for learning more about the billing practices at hospitals. We use government-provided data to compile statistics concerning hospital biling for 100 different services, and the associated amount that Medicare actually reimbursed for those services.

You will find detailed charts and statistics based upon all hospitals, hospitals by State, hospitals by service, as well as the ability to compare hospitals side-by-side.

Each of the over 3,000 hospitals listed on the web site also have their own page with more detailed information including comparisons of their billing practices compared to other hospitals in the same State as well as throughout the country.

It is our hope that information such as the data and content we make available will help people gain a better understanding of the comparitive billing practices at hospitals near them, and to add some needed transparency to the entire topic of hospital billing.
